Here is what I learned reading the news on AOL.  My grandmother always said we were related to Queen Victoria and I have been slow to dig for a clue. Yet times I spend hours tracking the line back, not missing a link to figure where it may come true.

Today, I was reading about the renovations of the newly married British royalty.  It gives a more in depth alignment which I knew it happened but not sure whom was involved.  Now I need to learn about Sophia of Hanover, whose son became King George I.

I have known since small that the British are ruled by a Germanic family, they have been ruled by many different backgrounded families.  Grandma used to say," well they are Germans not English. "

Now we must remember that they are definitely an intermixed lot as everyone else is also.  Marriage to retain status and property and control was key not lineages back then.

So we have had a clue given us today that fits in what she used to always say.

NEW PBS SHOW --- & --- NEW UK SITE

 The new PBS genealogy series "Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates Jr." 
debuts Sunday, March 25 at 8 p.m. 
 
 The 10-part series will explore the genealogy and genetics of famous Americans 
including Kevin Bacon, Robert Downey Jr., Branford Marsalis, John Legend, Martha 
Stewart, Barbara Walters and Rick Warren. 
 
 On the show's website, you can learn more about the research team (the New 
England Historic Genealogical Society staff did a lot of work for the series) 
and share your story.

On Linkedin.com there was a discussion on research in the world area.  

A post that there is a new source for British research.

Society of Genealogists, a British organization is placing many of 

their library books on-line.

It is a pay site but it covers the British Isles and some of Ireland. 

The url is SOG.org.UK for information.

This is not a new group but new data they are putting on line.

I have scoped out this site and it is loaded with data and works with

findmypast.com 

Some great downloads to be hand here.

Having always recommended wordgenweb.org for world search this may be a great place to look.
